On September 24, 2024 local time, Assistant Foreign Minister Miao Deyu met with UN Under-Secretary-General for Management Strategy, Policy and Compliance Catherine Pollard at the UN headquarters in New York.
Miao Deyu said that China firmly upholds the international system with the UN at its core and supports the UN in playing a central role in international affairs. China has always conscientiously fulfilled its financial obligations and is willing to send more excellent talents to the UN and deepen cooperation with the UN in management affairs and other areas.
Catherine Pollard highly appreciates and thanks China for its trust in and support for the UN, expects China to continue playing an important leading role in the implementation process of the Pact for the Future, and is willing to fully communicate and coordinate with China to enhance the representation of personnel from developing countries at the UN.
